But Minnie Driver has finally found some luck in the love department–by not marrying ex-fiancÈ Josh Brolin. As it turns out, he's a wifebeater . . . the Diane Lane-punching variety, not the shirt kind.
The son of Barbra Streisand man-meat James Brolin was arrested Sunday in Los Angeles on spousal-abuse charges after his wife, Oscar-nominated Unfaithful actress Diane Lane, called the po-po. Brolin was released on $20,000 bail, but hopefully a Nick Nolte-style mug shot will be made public soon. Kelly Bush, the couple's spokesperson, said, "Diane did not want to press charges and asked them not to arrest him, but in cases involving the possibility of any physical contact, the police have to arrest first, ask questions later. They are home together and are embarrassed the matter went this far." We expect a Pam Anderson-style stand-by-your-man statement to be forthcoming. See, Minnie, your luck with men really isn't that bad after all. It's your luck with the music industry that you really have to worry about.
