Sean Penn and Mark Ruffalo allegedly were involved in a skirmish involving the paparazzi at Sean's late brother Chris Penn's funeral on Saturday. That Sean is such a bad influence! A tussle with snappers is something we've come to expect from him, but getting that nice Ruffalo boy mixed up in such malarky? For shame.
The guest list at Penn's funeral must've read like the check-in sheet at the Promises clinic: Charlie Sheen, Tom Sizemore, and Robert Downey, Jr., in addition to Robin Wright Penn, Jack Nicholson, and James Gandolfini. Oh, and the Pavarotti was there in full force. We all know that Sean Penn and unsolicited photographers go together like Nicole Richie and eating food, but this time he had his scrappy little pal Mark Ruffalo with him. Gone were the soft, boyish expression and the shy vulnerability that made us fall in love with him in such heartwarming fare as 13 Going on 30 and Rumor Has It–the sight of a photog snapping pics at the solemn service prompted Ruffalo to forcibly remove the memory card from the man's camera. Although TMZ.com has reported that the shamed snapper has filed a formal complaint against Ruffalo, a spokeswoman for Sean denied that any such altercation occurred:
"The Penn family, with the loving support of family and longtime friends, buried their youngest son and brother, Chris, today at a private service. I have no knowledge of an incident and have no intention of disturbing the family at this time."
Guess you could say that Mark really got his feathers Ruffalo'ed. Hi-yohhhhh!
