To the left, you'll see lovely Thai actress Chotiros Suriyawong, AKA "Amy", at the Golden Swan awards, Thailand's version of the Oscars. Seems like they also have The Man in Thailand, because The Man wasn't amused by Chotiros's dress–as a result of donning the flimsy, stringy concoction, she's been sentenced to community service, fired from an upcoming film, reprimanded by the rector of her university.
But the biggest head-scratcher in this whole incredibly curious tale is the fact that everyone is likening the offending frock to Elizabeth Hurley's infamous Versace:
UK's The Independent reports:
The dress she wore to the Golden Swan awards had a three-inch wide slit from the hips to the cleavage. It was conservative compared to the outfits that young Thai women wear in the tourist bars of Phuket or Bangkok's Khaosan district. But it was too much for Suraphol Nitikraipot, rector of Bangkok's Thammasat University, where Ms Suriyawong is a student. "Society feels this is a disgrace and that her actions have affected the reputation of this university," he said.
Ms Suriyawong was reportedly forced to demonstrate to the university that the dress had specially sewn-in underwear.
Yeeeeah. Not sure how she was able to prove that, unless what we're looking at here is sewn-in underwear made of fur. We ain't calling Chotiros a liar, but we don't exactly see Pam Anderson throwing paint on her crotch.
