Aha! NOW we know why poor Ryan Phillippe has been photographed, alone, looking so very, very dour lately: his wife is a humorless old fuddy-duddy. Being forced to be serious must be very hard work for someone as gay as Ryan. Gay. You know, high-spirited. Jolly!

OK, you take Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Lopez, and Jane Fonda and you line 'em up. If you had to choose one (just one!) as the ill-humored harpy, who would it be? You've got the woman who rubs $2000 cream into her buttskin, the biddy who used to be married to Ted Turner, and the sunny star of Legally Blonde. Surprise, it's Miss Sweet Home Alabama! Legally Blonde and Monster-In-Law director Robert Luketic visibly shudders when asked about Reese, saying, "She would come out of her trailer and ask, 'Why is everyone laughing?' She would want to know why we all had smiles on our faces. Moviemaking to her is a deadly serious business. I did not bond with her like I did with J.Lo and J.Fo. There is something impenetrable about that woman." After we stopped chortling about "J.Fo", we noticed that Luketic signed off with an admirable burn. When asked if he would consider working with Witherspoon on future projects, the director said, "No. Moviemaking is supposed to be fun."
