A skinny girl, a bathtub, a wet shirt, running eyeliner, a few bruises, a sad face, and some see-through nipples. You'd think it was 1996 and you were looking at the cover of a Fiona Apple or PJ Harvey record but no, it's delightful, curly-haired moppet Keri Russell in Details magazine. Which makes it 1998.
Her latest filmóBedtime Stories, in theaters December 25óis being distributed by family-friendly Walt Disney Pictures. She stars opposite Adam Sandler. ìItís funny and itís a movie that kids can see,î Russell says. ìBut itís still got Adamís crazy sense of humor. Itís not totally nicey-nice.î
ìWorking with Keri was the best,î says Sandler. ìShe would bring her son to the set to play with my daughter. She also taught me all the dances from her days as a Mouseketeer. Plus, every day at lunch weíd have a curly-hair competition, and I would winóexcept on humid days.î
When asked whether moviegoers should expect an onscreen romance between the two, Russell answers bluntly. ìWeíre at odds at the beginning, and there is certainly a more, umóhow shall I say this? ófuckable girl in it,î she says. ìThatís actually her name: Fuckable Girl.î She pauses, then gives her character a little credit. ìBut I come up from the rear.î
It's just like she's LL Cool J in "I'm that Type of Guy", only instead of a sneaky freaky brother sneakin' in from the rear, she's a fuckable girl coming up from the rear. And, apparently, the fuckable girl who goes plushie, but we can't think of any song lyrics that involve frottage with teddy bears:
