Cosmetics company Cosmojet has filed suit against pop tart Jessica Simpson and Dessert Beauty Inc. stating that they failed to pay nearly $200,000 for products it made for the line. Simpson, in an uncharacteristically sensible statement, maintains she was merely a spokeswoman for Dessert and was not involved in Dessert Beauty's day-to-day operation and was not responsible for the company's accounting and billing procedures. Besides, she can't add.
Randi Shinder, the president of Dessert Beauty Inc., acknowledged receiving almost $1 million worth of products made by Cosmojet, but said his company refused payment on a portion of the shipment "that did not meet the company's high product standards and specifications." I am delighted to share that such high quality products include "deliciously kissable whipped body cream (with candy sprinkles)" and "deliciously kissable belly button fragrance." No word yet as to when or if the deliciously kissable suit will go to trial.
