Golden Globe nominations were announced today (full list here). We love the Golden Globes way more than the Oscars because stars can get wasted there. Oscars = Halle Berry making a touching speech about racial equality and musical salutes to Busby Berkeley. Golden Globes = the Scrubs writing crew barfing in a sterno dish. There are few surprises here–as predicted, Heath Ledger was nominated for The Dark Knight and Anne Hathaway was nominated for Rachel Getting Married. Meryl Streep got a nod for the no-makeup nun movie, 30 Rock is swimming in noms, and Dame Judi Dench appeared on the ballot, of course. The one weird thing? The movie that garnered the most nominations is The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Who knew that a movie that ripped off its main idea from Jonathan Winters's character in Mork & Mindy would become so celebrated.
