It's been announced that Nicole Richie and her former-fat-kid fiancÈ DJ AM have officially called off their engagement. We're stunned! You could knock us over with a feather. Or you could knock us over with a Nicole Richie. Do you get it? Because she's skinny. Boo-yah!
It's true–the formerly chunky pair have called it quits. Foolish Nicole! Moronic DJ! Don't you guys know that you're supposed to drop bombshells on Fridays at 5 P.M.? Well, unless you're pulling a publicity stunt, but you guys wouldn't do that to us, would you?
Us Weekly has learned exclusively that Nicole Richie, 24, and fiance Adam ''D.J. AM'' Goldstein, 32, have called it quits. ''They have decided to break off the engagement,'' Richie's rep Cindy Guagenti confirms to Us. ''The decision is mutual.''
Despite assurances that the decision is "mutual", Perez Hilton.com has excavated some more juice on the subject. Seems it was the DJ who did the dumping. Did he finally realize that he didn't want wed a mysterious caped tse tse fly? Various sources say:
"A.M. has a residency in Vegas, where he goes to spin every weekend," said the other source. "And, when the cat's away, the mouse will play. Adam found out that Nicole was 'partying' when he was away, and he does not tolerate that."
"Adam was fed up with Nicole," said one source. "Her issues with her weight, I'm reluctant to say 'anorexia', caused her behavior to be very erratic and moody lately."
