So we watched the entire Emmy telecast last night. And we were riveted. The announcement of outstanding lead actor in a mini-series or movie had us on the edge of our seat. Would it be Magnum P.I. or Chandler or Bridget Jones's dad? Such drama! Such intrigue! Such a good nap! But you know what we didn't see? The rumored apology from Britney Spears, not that we ever thought she would do such a thing. What she would do is buy back her kids from the Fed and smear food all over her face in a fancy-pants hotel restaurant. In unrelated incidents, of course.
First up, Britney gets banned from the Chateau Marmont for acting like Britney. The Sun reports:
Britney came under the management spotlight at exclusive Chateau Marmont after reports she was ìacting weirdî.And it seems ìacting weirdî doesnít begin to describe her latest act of lunacy, which saw Britney stunning fellow diners in the posh hotel restaurant by smearing a plate of top-notch food over her FACE.
Horrified guests were understandably outraged and demanded the management kick her out for good.
A source said: ìThe diners were disgusted. You wouldnít expect that from a teenager in a fast-food joint.
ìRoyalty have dined in this restaurant. Her behaviour was totally unacceptable.î
I told you last month that Brit had previously been so spaced out at the Chateau that she failed to recognise VICTORIA BECKHAM ó despite the Beckhamsí arrival in the States being plastered all over the US media.
Britís latest crazy antics ó combined with the convoy of photographers who followed her to the strictly private hotel ó were the final straw for stuffy bosses. Now her name has been added to a blacklist of former guests who are no longer welcome.
We see this as Britney being a smart consumer. The food was already paid for and if she didn't eat it it would just go in the trash. She could have wasted the food and went home and smeared some $800 an ounce Creme de la Mer on her face, but hey, she was eating fish, fish are from la Mer, she was just being thrifty. Which is a trait that may come in handy when she's trying to buy her babies from Kevin. According to MSNBC:
It looks like Britney Spears may be willing to pay a steep price to have her kids in her life, according to the News of the World.Following Britneyís well-publicized meeting with ex-hubby Kevin Federline and his lawyers last week, a friend of the singer discussed Britís state of mind and her custodial tactics with the publication.
ìShe is a caring, devoted (mom), despite her crazy lifestyle,î Brit's pal told the paper. ìThe kids mean the world to her. However, she has finally come to terms with the fact that the way things are heading, she is going to lose them. She is absolutely petrified at that thought ó and she knows she will not win full custody. So she has decided to reach a compromise with Kevin where she will have (primary) custody.î
After already pitching a deal to get K-Fedís team to stop the public Brit-bashing, NOTW claims the troubled pop star plans to put forth a ìmulti-million dollar cash-for-kidsî offer in her effort to keep her children.
Federline was allegedly seeking a 70/30 custody division, giving him the bigger share of face time with little Sean Preston and Jayden James. This new arrangement would reverse that.
ìIf he got custody, it would mean massive sums in child (support) and that is what Britney thinks he is after,î the friend said. ìShe thinks if she gives him a wad of dollars, he can go take it and knock himself out.î
BUT Brit and Kevin are in court this morning trying to work out custody, and rumor has it that a secret witness will be brought in who would reveal something so shocking and damning to Britney that she couldn't possibly be granted custody. What secret could Britney be hiding? She's not Fergalicious enough to have a secret meth habit. We still don't think poorly enough of Brit to believe that any baby beating is going down. Perhaps the secret witness is an IQ specialist who will reveal that Britney has the mental capacity of Animal from the Muppets. Nah, that wouldn't be very shocking. Maybe she was inspired by Michael Vick to get into underground competitions. But when she couldn't find enough dogs hiding in the corners of her house she found some infant-sized brass knuckles and pitted Sean and JJ against some scrappy twins from the Valley. Oh yeah, and Britney's lawyer quit this morning, so girl's pretty much screwed.

People.. she doesn't want the kids, she doesn't want the family.. she doesn't want a husband, management or a normal life. It's like asking her to live in prison and she's fighting like mad to be considered unsuitable for any responsiblity, except her freedom and money.
The future for Sean and Jay
Child neglect is defined as a type of maltreatment related to the failure to provide needed, age-appropriate care. Unlike physical and sexual abuse, neglect is usually typified by an ongoing pattern of inadequate care and is readily observed by individuals in close contact with the child. Once children are in school, personnel often notice indicators of child neglect such as poor hygiene, poor weight gain, inadequate medical care or frequent absences from school. victims experienced such "other" types of maltreatment as abandonment, threats of harm to the child and congenital drug addiction. States may code any maltreatment type that does not fall into one of the main categoriesóphysical abuse, neglect, medical neglect, sexual abuse and psychological or emotional maltreatmentóas "other."
Consider the possibility of neglect when the parent or other adult caregiver…
appears to be indifferent to the child
seems apathetic or depressed
behaves irrationally or in a bizarre manner
is abusing alcohol or other drugs
Physical neglect includes the refusal of seeking necessary health care, child abandonment, inadequate supervision, rejection of a child leading to expulsion from the home and failing to provide for the child's safety as well as his or her physical and emotional needs. The child may rummage for or steal food eventually.
Emotional neglect includes spousal abuse in the child's presence, allowing a child to use drugs or alcohol, refusal to provide needed psychological care and constant belittling.
Treatment
Parent education, community centers, respite care services and substance abuse treatment programs help to protect children by addressing circumstances that place families at risk for child abuse and neglect.
There are 20 states that require every citizen who suspects abuse or neglect to report it. "Reasonable suspicion" based on objective evidenceówhich could be firsthand observation or hearing statements made by a parent or childóis all that is needed to report abuse.
Understanding neglect requires an awareness of related social problems such as poverty, substance abuse and domestic violence. Interventions to treat children and families affected by neglect require thorough assessments and customized treatment.
