Joss Stone | trackback link |
The Gap has unceremoniously dropped singer Joss Stone from their ad campaign after they found out that she's shacking up with a much older man. Joss replaced Sarah Jessica Parker, who herself was replaced for being extremely old and rather homely.
The Gap:
Older boyfriends, an equine face = bad
Sweatshops and child labor = totally f-ing sweet!
The Gap apparently started reading the gossip rags juuuuuust now, and found out that Stone has been seeing 25-year-old music producer Beau Dozier. She moved into her older lover's L.A. crib when she was just 17 years old, and although she's now 18, the Gap takes that statuatory rape fairly seriously. An "insider" dished: "People take things such as the age of consent extremely seriously in America. It is all good and well to have glamorous celebrities endorsing the clothes but the backbone of Gap's business is in small towns in Middle America where people are very, very conservative, especially in the Bible Belt. As a result, I think they have made it pretty clear that Stone's association with the company is over."
We think this whole "age of consent" beeswax is a smokescreen for the real truth. And the truth is that this is America, and no one here cares one tiny lick about Joss Stone. Erstwhile Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams will be taking her place as the company's spokesperson, and all will be well and good until the Gap finds out that Michelle is actually a man.
No Joss Stone pics, but you may enjoy some Sarah Jessica Parker at MrSkin.com, if you like.
