We'll just get this out in the open: We love Mariah Carey. Not that we listen to her music or anything like that, we just love that she thinks she's the center of the universe. It's not like she's the damn Queen of England. Or even Diana Ross, for that matter. But girl sure knows how to make some demands.
We sort of passed over the story about Miss Mimi demanding 500 white roses in her dressing room for the VH1 Save the Music concert on Monday. Hell, we're surrounded by 500 white roses right now, so that's no big thing. But when she made an in-store appearance the next day at an L.A.-area Best Buy store, that's when she started having some fun. The always-gracious singer was offered the employee lunch room in lieu of a dressing room. Apparently unflapped by the piles of half-eaten Burger King Tendercrisp Bacon Cheddar Ranch sandwiches and boxes of unsold Dysons, Mariah was annoyed by one tiny little thing: the icky beige color of the walls. She requested that the room be painted pink so that she would feel more comfortable for the approximately half an hour she was likely to spend in the room. Her request was denied. One employee said, "Mariah Carey is a pain in the ass to the 10th power." But Mariah's world beautification project goes beyond Best Buy employee store rooms. We hear that just this morning she demanded that her favorite Starbucks be painted a cheery sunshine yellow and that the employees don rainbow-emblazoned hot pants and tube tops before she arrived for her morning Frappa-choco-caramel-crappachino-caca-mocho latte.
