Backstreet Boy Nick Carter is trying to explain away his Saturday night drunk driving arrest. It turns out he wasn't drunk, he was just fucked up on drugs! Thank God. We're so glad he cleared that up.

So he was all hopped up on whatever and driving like a jagbag, right? And the Huntington Beach, CA cops pulled him over, right? And then cuz totally failed the field sobriety test so he got his ass booked, right? Well, now Nick is trying to do damage control, and doing a pretty poor job at it. His "people" released the following statement yesterday: "Nick Carter deeply regrets the current situation. He is on doctor-prescribed medication and was unaware of its interaction possibilities." I wonder if this "doctor" is his brother Aaron? Which would make the prescribed "medication" a few gigantic bong hits. Drunk, stoned, whatever--we wish Nick all the best and hope he gets the help he needs to get back into prime Paris Hilton-battering form soon.
